Prevailing Wage Enforcement

Executive Order

In a news release dated 8/30/02, Comptroller Daniel W. Hynes issued an Executive Order imposing tough new standards on contracts and grants filed by state agencies. In that order, Hynes also established the post of Prevailing Wage Enforcement Officer within the Comptroller’s office to oversee implementation of the new provisions and to monitor compliance with prevailing wage requirements. Prevailing Wage Inquiries

Taxpayers can now inquire about Prevailing Wage Act contracts that have been reported to our Office. You can inquire by entering a specific vendor name, vendor FEIN, or a county. The information returned will include the vendor name, contracting agency, contract number, original contract amount, original contract terms, county, location, and general description.

Accounting Bulletin - Prevailing Wage and Grant Recipients

The Office of the Comptroller now requires state agencies to notify grant recipients of the application of the Prevailing Wage Act.
